Athens, Greece – Day 3

Our first stop on our third day in Athens was the ruins of Kerimikos. There was a museum to highlights the best pieces from the historical site.

Athens, Greece – Day 2

We started our second morning in Athens by stopping by some government buildings.Is that Poppy selling sesame breadsticks??
We had a nice walk in the National Gardens.The Royal ParliamentSyntagma SquareZappio BuilingThere was an Olympic exhibit inside the Zappio Builing. Amanda is pretending to hold the Olympic Torch from 2004! The 1896 Olympic Stadium.We made it to the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Athens, Greece – Day 1

In Athens, first and foremost on our minds was the food.  There are great markets – including nuts, olives, grains, and meat (shown below) that have been great. Two gyros and a block of feta cheese per day also helps.We spent a lot of time at Monastiraki Square.Our first stop for ruins was Hadrian’s Library and the Roman Agora.Then we enjoyed a long walk to the Acropolis.The Acropolis was amazing.Posing in front of the Parthenon.Theatre of Dionysus.Back in the city – ancient buildings and ruins are everywhere.

Cape Of Good Hope & PENGUINS!

Once again, we saw amazing scenery as we drove south from Cape Town to the Cape of Good Hope.
We stopped at Boulders Beach to see the African penguins! We were hoping to see one or two penguins…little did we know that we’d see hundreds! So cute! Getting closer to the southern most point of Africa. After the Cape of Good Hope, we drove along the coast on Chapmans Peak Drive.The road is built into the mountain..Beautiful…

Stellenbosch, South Africa

We stopped at a few more wineries in Stellenbosch on our way to Cape Town. More beautiful scenery!!

We found a great spot for our picnic lunch!
